Fabienne Hoelzel is the founder of FABULOUS URBAN, a design, research and planning practice specializing in less developed regions. Fabienne has wide experience with slum regeneration strategies. She is researcher at the ETH Zurich as well as an associated lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Lucerne.
In this conversation, Fabienne talks about global responsibility and breaking cycles of poverty to create new positive systems and how to combine material and immaterial ressources from Slums and wealthy nations like Switzerland. The gates to the future are not in Zürich. Furthermore Fabienne tells us about a concept of doing business which sounds quite revolutionary: Having a positive social impact from the perspective of global justice and being profitable as a company is not a contradiction.
